Saved From The Clutches Of Traffickers

January 24, 2025 by Bethany Warren

After a frustrating night of sleeplessness I rose to pounding in my temples. Why couldn’t I sleep last night? My brain simply would not shut off. Stumbling out of my room to make my morning coffee I received an urgent call. Two girls had been trafficked and were being transported to a large city!

Forget the coffee, I was awake now!  I quickly changed and raced out the door! Thank God I left the car keys in the right spot so I could make a quick exit. My heart felt like it might pound out of my chest. A fire of righteous anger burned throughout my body. I would find these girls and bring them justice if it was the last thing I ever did!

After arriving in the city, I headed straight to the red light district to meet my contact. They had been monitoring the actions of the traffickers and helped give me the direction I needed to take the next steps. During our meeting we concluded that the operation was too dangerous on our own. I would need the help of the local police.

When I arrived at the station, I urgently pleaded with them to get involved. Their lack of interest and support made me feel very alone in my rescue efforts. Finally, someone in the department stopped and listened. They agreed that something had to be done and gathered a few officers to help.

When we arrived at the brothel the girls were gone. All of a sudden, we became surrounded by dangerous, evil men who tried to attack us! We fled for our lives, barely escaping with the clothes on our backs. Someone had tipped them off! Shaken up and distraught I headed back home to recover.

For two days I racked my brain trying to figure out how we could arrange another invasion without being detected this time. Feeling as though I had failed these girls, my determination to succeed grew and I quickly returned to the police department. Once my contacts informed me of the girl’s new location, the officers and I started preparing for another rescue effort.

Suddenly, we were notified that the girls were being transported by the traffickers in an ambulance that afternoon in order to try to discreetly relocate them. We jumped in our vehicles and headed for the part of town they were being kept. Approaching the ambulance at record breaking speeds, we were able to cut them off and rescue the girls from the clutches of evil, arresting 12 of the traffickers and throwing them in jail.

Today, these girls are safe and being rehabilitated because you gave to help us find them! Thank you to each and every one of you who are helping us fight trafficking and saving lives.
