Arti had to drop out of school because her parents could not afford to continue her education. Instead of losing hope, she joined one of WIN’s sewing training centers and learned to tailor clothing. However, because neither Arti nor her parents could afford a sewing machine, she could not use her skill.
WIN learned of Arti’s situation; she was one of 75 women to whom WIN provided a sewing machine last year.
After receiving the sewing machine, Arti’s smile makes her face glow. Now, she is stitching dresses and earning an income. Arti says, “I am grateful to WIN for providing this powerful sewing machine tool. It can help me add some money to my father’s earnings, and we can pay off my younger brother’s school fees so my younger brother can go to school and get a good education.”
